Chic Pocket Card for the Westin Book Cadillac

This wedding was extra special to me because the bride and I go way back—to even before we were born. Our parents grew up together and have been friends ever since. I was THRILLED when she asked me to do her invitations and we had a blast working together. And bonus—these turned out to be one of my favorite suites to date. They were stunning in person.

We used a 5x7 dark gray shimmer pocket card with a panel invitation on one side and custom map, timeline and response card tucked into the pocket on the other. Everything was printed on a silver shimmer cardstock, and we added a layer of deep matte purple between the invitation and the card, giving it a little extra texture and dimension.

It was important to Jamie to be able to specify invited guests, the way inner envelopes allow brides to do, and we spent a lot of time collaborating on how exactly to accomplish it. In the end we decided on a personalized tag, set with two eyelets and then tied around the pocket with coordinating ribbon.

For the wedding day we did programs, place cards, table numbers, and favor cards to match. Robin's mom lost her battle with breast cancer in 2010 and instead of traditional favors Jamie and Robin made a donation to the Gateway for Cancer Research in each guest's name. I thought this was a great idea—so meaningful and such a great way to honor Robin's mom.
